We went to the Schloss Weikersheim Palace & Gardens for a concert and dinner. It was about a forty-five minute bus ride from Wertheim.
We had a brief tour inside the palace . . .
. . . and then outside into the gardens.
Then into the orangerie for dinner. An orangerie was much like a greenhouse where plants and even trees were brought inside to protect them from the winter cold. The orangerie now serves as an elegant place to entertain palace guests.
Enjoying dinner in the orangerie. Quite an impressive place.
Our chef was Michelin starred chef Jürgen Koch and here you see his offerings.
And here you have number II, the cod.
The magnificent palace viewed from the orangerie.
New friends from Connecticut, Mary Ann and Vernon.
The real excitement of the evening was the ride home. Big bus, narrow country roads, in the dark. No photos, just a lot of gasps!
