Rothenburg (pg 2)

Anniversary Lunch

The ship arranged a "light lunch" for us at one of the local cafés. If this was light, I'd hate to see what a normal lunch would be. They served us a platter with several kinds of sausages and cheeses. We complemented it with some very good German wheat beer. To top it off, we finally had apple strudel. (Yep, that's Charles in the background.)

Back To the Streets

After lunch we wandered back out into the town square, where, to our amazement, there was a choir concert in progress. Even more amazing, as we walked up to listen, they began singing "Rock My Soul In the Bosom of Abraham!" It was most unexpected to be hearing that in the town square of a medieval city. Apparently, it was a music fest that occurs every four years. People travel from all over Europe to participate.

Along with the music fest, there was an impressive display of classic cars.

Beautiful!

Down a side street to another impressive church.

On the City Wall

And Guess What?

Here we are, in one of the oldest cities in Germany, and guess who finds a quilt shop!
